Two weeks ago my husband went on a five day high mountain backpacking trip. He took this tent with him and it worked great. It was light weight to carry on his pack and took up hardly any room. It is a very snug fit so if you were a larger person, this might not work for you. It rained and hailed on his trip and the tent kept him dry. There is very little room for your gear in the tent but my husband squished it in so it didn’t get wet. He said it was a good tent for the price!

Opening the package everything seemed fine. First time setting the tent up the black straps you tie the tie down strings to came off and broke. The dew at night soaked all the way through and was it soaking wet on the inside. I was sleeping and woke up from dew dripping in my face. When I had it under cover even with the flap down and just the bug net up from breathing inside condensation built up on the inside and the roof was soaked. On the plus side it was very light weight and quick to assemble/disassemble.

My goal/purchase is for a late spring to mid summer stargazing trip overnight to 2 night maximum in the high desert with telescope. Maximum goal of 13-15lbs of total carry weight. Out of all the tent types available on the market, I decided on a bivy tent due to light weight, easy setup and simple yellow hue just in case for emergencies in the future. My past outdoor experience and current budget for new proper equipment was extremely important factor of my purchase decision. The competition charges double or more in price for similar quality.

When I received my package, I was questionable about the tent itself due to lack of no logo on tent, no set-up instructions, or no advertising on the small dull brown box it was packaged in. After examining the tent frame and all the pieces, tent sewing and zippers are of good quality. I was disappointed that the floor of this bivy tent is not made with heavy tarp material that is standard in most bathtub bottom dome-like tent infrastructures. Maybe this is the reason due to its light weight. After erecting the bivy tent upon my floor, I hopped into it. I was happy with the construction of the tent and the independent double sided zippers for a full head enclosure bug-screen and full sealed enclosure with protected vent. I’m a man of 40 years old, 5’11”, husky build and I felt a little restrictive but comfortable within the bivy tent fully enclosed. I was able to turn on either side and pull my knees up slightly for comfort noting this bivy tent will be used to sleep in only. There is plenty room inside for a basic compact inflatable mat and compact lightweight sleeping bag. A person may be able to sleep comfortably with a small daypack by their side with personals within the tent enclosed. I would not recommend this tent for anyone taller than 6 foot do to its restriction in dimension.

I’ve tested a few areas on the erected tent with a spray bottle of water. I’ve soaked the outside by foot area, dead center, and outer head area with all the zippers sealed of the erected bivy tent. I’ve let sit for several minutes and hopped in, I found no seepage and the inside was dry. I did not test the bottom, due to intended use of outer footprint when outdoors. I would recommend a new outer sealant coating after first season of use.

I would recommend a separate outer tarp or footprint for the ground/flooring for the tent via outdoor usage. This is to prevent damage to the thin bottom layer and possible seepage from rain, condensation, unwelcome invitation of outdoor bugs, and etc.

For the price, this generic non logo bivy tent should provide a few seasons of standard usage. As for all tents, take care and gently thread (don’t force) erected poles into/through the tent liners to prevent accidental tearing when erecting or disassembling of tent.

DIDNT COME WITH AN UNDER SHEET. Not sure how good the stitching is yet. Overall it looks ok for a lightweight tent but idk if it’ll keep water out too well def won’t keep you that warm (fabric is thin). I mostly got it for the light weight aspect. It isn’t hard to put up, it’s lightweight, and will keep bugs off I wasn’t planning on using it in bad weather but I assume I’ll end up buying a new small tent in the next year

It’s such a great light weight option. I’m 5 ft and slim build and it was great. Perfect for someone like me that can’t carry a heavy load. It felt spacious for me and slept great in it.

Tent is not breathable at all! Used 2 nights in the backcountry and was drenched (condensation along inner walls) both nights despite using only the bug net or sleeping with the opening fully unzipped. One redeeming quality is that it's lightweight (1.56 lbs). You will need extra stakes for the 4 guylines if you want the tent to stand up at all. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this bivy tent.

EDIT: reading other reviews made me realize that the tent I received came with only 2 stakes, when it's supposed to be 10. Weird. Glad I returned this.

It's nice, a little on the cheap side on quality but it is light weight. I don't believe it will last very long if used regularly but I'd still recommend it. I do wish the foot end was as tall as the door end.

I had a my 1st backpack trip with this tent 3 week ago. The night I wake up, I felt web around anywhere inside. Morning I came out of the tent, outside was dry. I realized the moisture could not get out and there is a little port which should open. But, it could not keep open. If you use a stick to hold it, it will felt out. No way to hold it open.
other thing, it is really small. I am not big still could not turn or move inside. I want to return but it passed 30 days after the purchase.
